Join us for a conversation about Broadway during the Pandemic with Broadway composer and lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver. When Broadway went dark in March, a billion-dollar industry and all the talented people who make it sing went dark with it. Called "the future of Broadway" by Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Scott Oliver will give us a front-row seat at the Great White Way and share how artists are managing to survive and stay sane during the pandemic. He will also talk about the shifting dynamics of the business side and how the Black Lives Matter movement has changed the theater landscape.

Ryan is currently at work on adaptations of the films Hugo (based on the 2011 Martin Scorsese film) with Christopher Wheeldon, and Heart and Souls (1993) for Universal Theatrical Group, plus a trilogy of original musicals (We Foxes, Three Points of Contact, and Tethered with Adam Chanler-Berat) and Future Demons, an album adapting short stories by the acclaimed American Gothic writer Shirley Jackson. He is the winner of a Larson Grant, a Richard Rodgers Award, a New Musicals Award from Weston Playhouse, and the recipient of a Lortel Award nomination.
